Damas is the king of Spargus, a settlement in the Wasteland. After Jak and Daxter are exiled from Haven City by Count Veger, Ashelin gives Jak a beacon in hopes that he'll be tracked down. Damas rescues Jak upon his arrival in the Wasteland. In exchange for this rescue, Jak and Daxter must prove their worth to Damas and the city of Spargus, or risk being banished and thrown back into the desert. Damas rules Spargus with authority, expecting those who seek shelter within its walls to demonstrate their value through action.

In Their Own Story

The desert sun beat down on the cracked earth as Jak stirred, disoriented. A figure loomed above him—Damas, king of Spargus. 'You're in my city now,' Damas said, his voice carrying the weight of command. 'You want to stay? You prove your worth. Fail, and the desert takes you back.' Jak, still recovering from his exile, had no choice but to accept the terms. Damas watched him closely, measuring every move, every decision. This was not a man who gave second chances lightly.
